foreign nationals except the citizens of seventeen visa exempt countries
require a visa to enter Nigeria.

Nigeria
issues tourist visas to foreign nationals who intend to visit the country exclusively
for tourism-related activities.
In order to get these visas, the British
applicant should submit the documents mentioned below.
- The British citizen should
submit an original signed passport. This passport should have a minimum
validity of six months, and two blank pages for markings. If the validity
of your passport is less than six months, it is highly recommended to renew
it before submitting the application.
- Two recent passport-sized
photographs should be submitted. It should be noted that these passports
should be taken within two weeks, and the applicant’s full name should be
written on its backside. Except for religious purposes, applicants are not
supposed to wear headwear in these photographs. In the photographs, the
applicant should also make sure that he or she is maintaining a neutral
facial expression.
- All applicants should submit
copy of round-trip flight tickets or the full version of the itinerary.

- Original copies of the
applicant’s last three months bank statements should be submitted. The
submitted bank statements should show a minimum £500 in credit.
- As the proof of accommodation,
the applicant should submit copy of confirmed hotel room booking
reservations. This proof of accommodation should show the name of the applicant,
name of the hotel and its address.
- If the applicant is
self-employed, he or she must provide a letter stating the purpose of the
trip, addressed to ‘High Commission of Nigeria, 9 Northumberland Avenue,

- The applicant is required to
submit all previous passports. If you have lost any of your old passports,
you should write a letter addressed to ‘High Commission of Nigeria, 9
Northumberland Avenue, Westminster, London WC2N 5BX’, citing the reason of
old passport non submission.
- A formal typed letter addressed
to ‘High Commission of Nigeria, 9 Northumberland Avenue, Westminster,
London WC2N 5BX’ should be submitted. This letter should not be older than
one month, and it should show all details of the applicant including his
or her name, address, date of birth etc. In the letter, the applicant
should also furnish the intended duration of stay in Nigeria.
- The applicant should complete

While

- A formal letter of invitation

should detail the purpose and nature of the traveler’s visit to Nigeria.
The company should also assure that they are taking full immigration
responsibility of the traveler.
- A letter from the traveler’s employer
in the United Kingdom should be submitted. This letter should not be older
than one month, and it should explain the nature of the visit. The company
should also assure that they have full financial responsibility of the
traveler.
- Self-employed applicants
should submit a letter that states the purpose of the visit to Nigeria.
This letter should be addressed to the High Commission of Nigeria.
- All previous passports of the
applicant should be submitted. If you have lost the passport, you should
write a letter addressed to the High Commission of Nigeria. This letter
should explain why you will not be able to submit the old passports.

In
order to obtain a Nigeria visitor visa, all travelers should submit the

temporary work permit visa
Foreign
nationals who intend to work inside Nigeria can apply for a Nigeria temporary
work permit visa.
In order to get these visas, foreign nationals should submit
the documents mentioned below.
- The applicant should submit
his or her original, signed passport which has a minimum validity of six
months. The passport should also have two blank pages for visa markings.
- It is necessary to submit two
passport sized photographs of the applicant. In the backside of these
photographs, the applicant should put a signature, and should write his
name and signature.
- The applicant should submit a
letter of invitation issued by the company in Nigeria. The letter of
invitation should assure the Nigerian company is taking full immigration
responsibility of the foreign national. The letter should not be older
than one month, and it should be signed by a senior member in the company.
- All the previous passports of

should explain why he or she cannot submit the previous passport.
- It is necessary to submit an approved
cable gram from the immigration office in Abuja. This cable gram should
not be older than one month, and it should be used before its expiry.
