Everything You Need To Know About A Netherlands Antilles Visa
Netherlands
Antilles comprises a group of islands, namely, Sint Maarten, Saba, Sint
Eustatius,
Aruba,
Bonaire, and Curaçao. Also known as the Dutch Caribbean, it is a separate
autonomous kingdom and has its own entry requirements, which may or may not be
similar to those of the Netherlands.
British
nationals traveling to Netherlands Antilles don’t need a visa to enter the
nation, for short-term stays of up to 90 days.
In
order to enjoy the benefits of the visa-free regime, you would, of course, need
to own a British Citizen passport, which has a remaining validity of at least 6
months from the date of entry into the Netherlands Antilles. It should
additionally contain a minimum of two blank pages.
After
you land in the country, authorities will usually ask you to present a proof of
onward/return travel in the form of booked tickets. Moreover, you should carry
proof of enough funds to support your stay in the nation. Furthermore, do not
forget to check if your overseas connecting flights (if any) follow individual
transit requirements. Finally, contact your airline beforehand and confirm
whether they allow boarding without a visa.
Entry requirements for foreign travelers to the Netherlands Antilles
If you live in the United Kingdom but do not possess an ordinary British Citizen passport and want to apply for a visa to visit any of the Caribbean parts of the Kingdom, you will need a short-term visa that grants a stay for up to 90 days.
To begin the process, you will first need to gather the following documents. Ensure that you submit both originals and photocopies. The embassy or consulate has no facility of making copies for you.
A completely filled-inCaribbean visa application form. You can fill the form online. Once you finish, download it, and take a printout. You should then sign the form during your appointment before a consular officer.
A passport or valid travel document that has at least two blank pages. It should be valid for at least 6 months from the date you land in the Netherlands Antilles.
Note that you need to submit your original passport with the application package. You can carry an extra photocopy if you need proof that the consulate has your passport. You can get the copy stamped at the embassy itself and keep it for future reference.
Proof that you are a legal resident in the UK. For this, you can share your passport, UK residence permit, or UK visa.
A passport-size, colored photograph against a clear, pale background, which is not older than 3 months.
Detailed travel itinerary in the form of your flight reservation. You should also provide necessary documents that grant you transit or arrival in your next destination country. This can be again in the form of a passport, residence permit or visa.
Evidence that you hold sufficient funds to cover your accommodation and stay expenses. You should usually be able to prove that you have USD 150 and USD 200 per day.
This can be presented in the form of recent bank statements or signed traveler’s cheques bearing your name.
Guarantor’s declaration: For applicants who cannot produce proof of sufficient funds, they can appoint a family member or friend from the Netherlands Antilles as a guarantor.
For this, you need to apply for a financial guarantor’s declaration. Your guarantor should get this document from the local authorities and the latter must legalize the declaration.
Along with the guarantor’s declaration, the guarantor should prove his/her financial status by providing recent bank statements, recent payslips, an employer’s declaration or employment contract, and a copy of their passport or identity card.
Salaried applicants must submit an employer’s declaration, which specifies your job title, number of years in the job, monthly income and permission to take holiday leave.
Students should hold documents which state that they are registered as a student at their school or university. Independent business travelers need to submit official proof which states that they own a registered business and they should also have tax returns from the past year.
For a tourist visa, you need to share proof of accommodation reservations. For a business visa, you need to submit a letter of invitation from an organization in the Netherlands Antilles.
This letter must specify the purpose of your visit, provide cost-cover details, and state the places where you will be staying during your trip.
Medical insurance, which covers the entire stay period, for a minimum of USD 15,000, which includes hospital care, emergency treatment, and repatriation.
For minors, the application should be accompanied by the child’s birth certificate and proof of identity for the child’s parent(s) or guardian(s). If the minor is traveling alone, he/she requires to carry a declaration of consent signed by both parents or guardians.
Once you have all the documents ready, please visit the Netherlands Embassy in London in person after fixing an appointment after sending an email. After you pay the required fee, the visa, if approved, will be delivered to you within 15 calendar days.
