Everything You Need To Know About Yemen Visa
As
a holder of an official British passport, you need a visa to enter Yemen, which
you can obtain from the Embassy of Yemen in London. Again, if your stay period
exceeds 14 days in the country, you shall have to register your passport after
arrival with the Yemen immigration authorities.
Types of Yemeni Visas
There
are primarily two types of popular Yemeni visas -- Tourist Visa and Business
Visa.
Note:
For citizens of Yemen, who hold a valid British or Yemeni passport, it is not
required to apply for a visa to enter the country.
Additionally,
diplomatic visas, which are required for individuals working with the British
Embassy for long periods (for around 2 to 4 years) are issued free of charge.
Note:
As a UK citizen, you must own a UK residence permit for a minimum of two years,
in order to apply for a Yemeni visa.
Tourist Visa
A
tourist or visitor visa serves the purpose of entering Yemen for leisurely or
sightseeing activities. It is available in single entry type with a validity of
two months from the date of issue.
For
applying for a tourist visa, you will need:
- A fully completed visa application
form
- One recent passport size photograph.
- A passport with a validity of at
least six months and a minimum two blank pages
- Proof of address
- A letter from the tourism or travel
company that is organizing your trip
- Round trip tickets
*If
you are applying as a group, your tour must be via a national tourism or travel
company in Yemen
Once
your documents are ready, visit the counter of the Embassy's Consular Section
and submit the visa application package in person. For a faster process, we can

Business Visa
A
business visa allows you to enter Yemen to carry out business-related
activities such as attending conferences, meetings, or seminars.
A
single entry business visa comes with a validity of 2 months. A multiple entry
business visa offers validities of 6 and 12 months. Each of these visa types
allows a maximum stay period of 30 days from the date of entry into the
country.
In
order to apply for a business visa, you will need:
- A fully completed visa application
form
- One recent passport size photograph.
- A passport with a validity of at
least six months and a minimum two blank pages
- Round trip tickets
- An employment letter from your
organization in the UK, written on company letterhead, that has your contact
details and specifies that the required leave of absence has been granted for
the trip. It must also state the purpose and duration of the trip, and say when
you will be rejoining work. It should be addressed to the High Commission of
Yemen. Again, if you are self-employed, you have to attach a copy of your
business license and tax return. If you are retired, you need to include
evidence of your retirement funds.
- A business letter that is issued by
the host company in Yemen. It should specify the purpose of the trip, dates of
travel and give proof of sufficient funds. The letter has to be addressed to
the Consulate of Yemen, should not be more than a month old, and must include
an original signature.
