Everything you need to know about a Comoros Visa
British
travelers need a visa to enter Comoros. However, the missions of Comoros do not
deal with visa applications and hence, we cannot assist you in this regard.
But
the good news is, you can get a visa on arrival at Hahaya airport or at other
points of entry.
Visa on Arrival
In order to receive a Comoros visa on arrival, you need to carry an original British citizen passport, which has a minimum remaining validity of six months from the date of entry into the nation.
Immigration officials may also ask you to produce legitimate proof that you have enough funds to sustain your stay period in the country. Additionally, you need to present evidence of onward or return travel.
Moreover, ensure that your passport has at least two free pages in the visa section in order to facilitate easy issuance of entry and exit stamps.
Note: We strongly recommend you to confirm if there are any overseas connecting flights as part of your journey to Comoros. It might happen that some of the countries on your itinerary require a transit visa to air-transit via their borders.
You need to hold documents showing proof of the purpose of the trip. Furthermore, apart from ongoing tickets, you may be requested to showcase all the documents required for your next destination.
Prior to your travel dates, confirm with the airline whether boarding is permitted without a visa.
Now, once you arrive in Comoros, you can head over to the immigration counter located in the vicinity. The designated authority will first determine your passport and the purpose of your visit. Depending on these factors, they will stamp the visa on arrival accordingly, after the payment of the required fee, also accepted in Euros.
A Comoran visa on arrival is available in the following categories.
- 24-hour visa, which is issued free of cost.
- A tourist visa, allowing a stay of up to 45 days. It is priced at 15,000 KMF or 30.00 EUR. You can renew it for the same fee if you wish to extend your stay in Comoros.
- A long-stay visa, which costs 125,000 KMF or 255.00 EUR.
- Residence permit, which allows a stay of up 10 years. It costs 135,000 KMF or 274.40 EUR.
