Indonesia transit visa

For UK citizens, a transit visa is not required for a stay up to eight hours in Indonesia.

In order to stay visa-free in this eight-hour period, a foreign national should meet the below-mentioned requirements.

The applicant’s passport should have six months validity and a blank page.
The traveler should make sure that he or she is not leaving the transit area of the airport.
Travelers are not allowed to arrive at Denpasar-Bali, as there are no transit facilities available there.
The foreign national should hold proof of sufficient funds.
It is also necessary to hold copies of onward and return flight tickets.
It is necessary to hold all documents required for next destination. The traveler should also confirm with the airline that boarding is allowed without a visa, as these rules are subject to change.

If the traveler does not meet the above-mentioned criteria, a visa may me required. British citizens can obtain a transit visa for seven days upon arrival by submitting the passport and onward and return flight tickets.

Indonesia journalist visa

Indonesia issues journalist visas to media personals who plan to visit the country for professional activities.

In order to get a journalist visa, a foreign national should submit the documents mentioned below.

The applicant should submit a clear photocopy of the passport.
It is necessary to submit three passport-sized photographs taken within the last six months.
The original passport of the applicant should be also submitted. This passport should have a minimum validity of nine months and two consecutive blank pages for markings.
A letter of recommendation from the company should be submitted.
