Myanmar tourist e-visa

Opting an e-visa allows the foreign national to apply for an electronic travel document from the comfort of their home.

Myanmar business e-visa

UK citizens who plan to enter Myanmar for business-related activities can also apply for a visa online.

These business visas allow a British national to enter Myanmar legally, and they can engage business-related activities like commercial sale trading within the country.

In order to become eligible to apply for a business e-visa, the passport of the foreign national should have the desired validity of six months and adequate blank pages. It is also necessary to hold proof of sufficient funds, along with proof of onward/return flight tickets. The applicant should also supply an address from a registered hotel, motel or inn.

Note: The validity of a Myanmar regular tourist visa is three months, and using these single-entry visas, foreign nationals can stay inside the country for a maximum period of 28 days per entry.

Myanmar business visa

Myanmar issues business visas to foreign nationals who intend to visit the country exclusively for business-related activities.

These are regular visas, and it should be obtained directly via the embassy. In order to get a business visa, a foreign national should submit the documents mentioned below.

The British citizen should submit his or her signed UK passport which has a minimum validity of six months and at least one visa blank page.
Two passport-sized photographs of the applicant should be submitted. These photographs should be taken in a white background, and it should provide the full-frontal view of the applicant’s head with the face centered in the middle.
It is necessary to submit the complete version of the itinerary.
An original signed business letter from the applicant’s company in the United Kingdom should be submitted. This letter should briefly introduce the applicant, and it should specify the nature of business that will be conducted in Myanmar. The letter should also specify the type and desired validity of the visa, and the UK company should also guarantee sufficient funds for the applicant’s travel.
An invitation letter from the company in Myanmar should be submitted, and it should detail the nature and purpose of the trip. This letter, which should not be older than one month should be addressed to the Consulate of Myanmar. In the letter, the company in Myanmar should assure that they are taking the full financial responsibility of the traveler.
It is necessary to submit a copy of the inviting company's registration certificate.
A copy of the bio-data page of the applicant’s passport should be submitted.

Note: Myanmar offers both single and multiple entry business visas to British citizens. Single entry visas are valid for three months, and using these visas, a foreign national can stay inside the country for a maximum period of 70 days per entry.

The validity of a multiple entry visa ranges from three months to one year. However, in order to get a multiple entry visa, the applicant should have obtained three single entry visas in the past.

Myanmar transit visa

British nationals can stay visa exempt in Myanmar, if they are visiting the country for transit purposes.

However, the UK citizen should meet the conditions mentioned below to stay visa free.

The UK citizen should ensure that he or she is not leaving the international transit area of the airport.
The traveler should continue the journey on the same calendar day.
The applicant should hold a passport which has a validity of six months, and one visa blank page.
The British national should hold proof of sufficient funds, and proof of onward/return tickets.
It is necessary to hold all documents and visa required for the next destination.
