Azerbaijan e-visas

It was in January 2017 that Azerbaijan introduced the e-visa application system to foreign nationals including citizens of the United Kingdom. This system was introduced to make the entire process of visa application easy. An e-visa allows the traveler to complete all the steps of the visa application process online, and there is no need to visit the Azerbaijan embassy.

Upon arrival in Azerbaijan, the foreign national should show the printout of the e-visa to the immigration officers at the entry port. After checking your e-visa, immigration officers will grand you the permission to enter Azerbaijan.

Azerbaijan e-tourist visas

As the name indicates, Azerbaijan e-tourist visas are issued to travelers who wish to visit the country exclusively for tourism-related activities. Using these visas, a foreign national is not supposed to work inside Azerbaijan, and if found violating the rules, the visitor will be compelled to face strict legal consequences.

Please find below the necessary documents to obtain an Azerbaijan e-tourist visa.

You should submit a clear copy of your passport. While sending the passport copy, please make sure that it has a minimum of three months validity and two blank pages for markings.
The foreign national should provide a contact address in Azerbaijan.
It is also recommended to hold proofs of onward/return flight tickets.
The e-visa application form should be filled without any errors.

The visa processing fee can be paid either using credit card, debit card or PayPal.

Note: In usual cases, the validity of an Azerbaijan e-tourist visa will be three months. It means that the foreign national should enter the country within this time period. This travel authorization offers single entry privilege to UK citizens, and the maximum stay duration per entry is 30 days. If the foreign national is staying in Azerbaijan for more than ten days, then he or she should register with the State Migration Service of the Republic of Azerbaijan once inside the country.

The foreign national should leave Azerbaijan before the expiration of the e-visa. If found overstaying, authorities in Azerbaijan will take strict legal actions against the visitor.

Azerbaijan e-business visa

Foreign nationals including UK citizens can apply for e-business visa if they are visiting the country for business activities. These visas offer a validity of 90 days. Using these single-entry visas, foreign nationals can stay inside the country for a maximum period of 30 days per entry.

The traveler should hold onward/return flight tickets or accommodation proofs.
The visitor should provide a contact address in Azerbaijan.

Azerbaijan regular tourist visa

Just like a tourist e-visa, a regular tourist visa also allows a foreign national to enter Azerbaijan for tourism-related activities.

The passport should be submitted, and it should have a minimum validity of three months. It is also necessary to reserve two blank pages for markings.
A recent passport-sized photograph should be submitted, and it should be taken within the last six months. The photograph should be taken in a white background, and it should provide the full-frontal view of the applicant’s head with the face centered in the middle. Except for religious purposes, the foreign national is not supposed to use headwear in the photograph.
The applicant should submit a hotel reservation confirmation letter. The letter should be written on the Azerbaijan hotel’s letterhead, and it should be stamped, dated and signed by an authorized individual.

It should be noted that Azerbaijan regular tourist visas offer a validity of three months. The maximum stay duration per entry using these visas is 90 days. Please note that these visas are only for single entry tourism purposes.

Azerbaijan regular business visa

Azerbaijan regular business visas are issued to foreign nationals who plan to enter the country for business activities like commercial trading. Azerbaijan single entry business visas are valid for 90 days, while multiple entry visas are valid for one year. In order to get these visas, a UK citizen should submit the below-mentioned documents.

The passport should be valid for three months, and it should have two blank pages.
The applicant should submit a passport-sized photograph. The passport-sized photograph with white background should be taken within the last six months. Travelers should make sure that they are not using any headwear unless until it is for religious purposes.
The traveler should submit a letter from the UK company. It should be noted that this business letter should introduce the applicant and should also detail his or her employment status, position held in the company etc. The letter should also furnish nature of the trip and purpose of the journey.
If the foreign national is opting for a multiple entry business visa, the UK citizen should submit an official letter of invitation issued by the Immigration Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Azerbaijan.
It is also necessary to submit a business invitation letter from the hosting company in Azerbaijan. This letter should be printed in the company’s letterhead, and it should be addressed to the embassy of Azerbaijan. The letter should introduce the applicant, and should detail the activities the foreign traveler will be indulging while inside Azerbaijan. This business invitation letter should be signed by a senior manager of the Azerbaijan company.
The applicant should complete the visa application form without any errors.

Note: If staying for more than 30 days in Azerbaijan, it is necessary to register their passports with the local passport-registration authorities.

Azerbaijan Transit visa

UK citizens do not require a visa while transiting through Azerbaijan and staying in the country for 72 hours. However, the foreign national should meet the below-mentioned requirements while transiting.

The traveler should not stay for more than 72 hours in Azerbaijan.
The foreign national should have a valid passport with one blank page.
UK citizens are not allowed to transit between terminal 1 and terminal 2 at Baku.
The traveler should hold proof of sufficient funds, and he or she should also have onward/return flight tickets.
The foreign national should have visa for the next destination country.
The traveler should also confirm with the airlines that boarding is permitted without a visa.

Azerbaijan work visa

As mentioned earlier, foreign travelers are not allowed to work in Azerbaijan using a tourist or business visa.
